Learn more about blip's vision to revolutionize document creation and academic writing
Blip (Better Language for Intelligent Papers) is a lightweight markup language designed to replace LaTeX for writing research papers, technical documentation, resumes, and reports. Unlike LaTeX's complex syntax, blip offers simpler, more intuitive markup with faster compilation and clean separation between content, style, and structure.
The Blip ecosystem will include a parser/compiler to convert .blip files into PDF/HTML, a CLI tool for compilation, and a GUI Editor featuring real-time preview, syntax highlighting, theme/style manager, and export options to PDF, HTML, and LaTeX formats.
Blip is designed for research papers, technical documentation, resumes, reports, and any document that requires professional formatting. The system will support academic writing standards while being flexible enough for various document types.
Yes! Future versions of Blip will include comprehensive math support with familiar syntax like $$...$$ for mathematical expressions, making it perfect for academic and technical writing that requires complex formulas and equations.
Blip is currently under active development. We're working on the core parser and compiler first, followed by the CLI tool and GUI editor. While we don't have a specific release date, we're targeting a beta release in 2026. Follow our updates for the latest progress!
Later stages of development will include a comprehensive template system for resumes, academic papers, and other document types. We're also planning plugin support for custom blocks and extended functionality, making Blip highly customizable for different use cases.
